Family Photography

It's all about capturing these genuine smiles, the moments of love, the laughter and connection that make your family unique. Each session is an opportunity to document your story, creating images that will be cherished by your family and the generations to come.  In my opinion, this is photography at its best!

Sessions

Home

There’s something truly special about photographing families at home, especially when we have the bonus of some soft, natural light streaming in through the windows. Your home is where your family feels most comfortable, and that relaxed atmosphere shines through in the photos. Nothing can beat the fun kids have when playing on mum and dad's bed, the laughs, the tickles, the jumps...well, if allowed that is.

If you’ve just welcomed a newborn, home is the perfect setting too. There’s no need to pack up all the baby essentials or worry about heading out — your little one stays warm, safe, and cozy in their own familiar space. You can easily feed, cuddle, and change them as needed, and we can take our time capturing these beautiful early days.

The best of all? Photographing your family at home adds another layer of meaning to your images — they become a memory not just of this time in your life, but of the place where it all happened.

Outdoors

Outdoor sessions at the park are a fantastic way to combine photography with play — especially for little ones. They have space to run, explore, and just be themselves, which always makes for the most natural, joy-filled photos.

Autumn is a particularly lovely time for these sessions. The golden leaves, soft light, and warm tones create a beautiful, cozy backdrop — and the temperatures are still mild enough for everyone to feel comfortable. Plus, we’re not limited to shooting at specific times of day, as the light tends to stay soft throughout, as long as the weather is kind to us.

In the summer months, timing becomes a bit more important. The light is strongest and harshest in the middle of the day, which isn’t ideal for portraits. To get that soft, flattering glow, it’s best to plan our session later in the evening, close to 18:30. That way, we avoid the harsh midday sun and get that beautiful golden-hour magic.

Studio

When people think of studio photography, they often imagine stiff, posed portraits — but that couldn’t be further from the truth! A studio can actually be a great space for relaxed, playful sessions. While we are working in a smaller area with controlled lighting, that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun.

In fact, the cosy setting can be a real advantage — especially with little ones. There’s no need to chase them through a park or worry about the weather, and the consistent lighting allows us to create beautifully lit, timeless portraits every time.

The studio also gives us room to get creative. We can switch up backdrops, try different outfits, and experiment with styling to really capture your family’s personality. You’re more than welcome to bring along any props, toys, or even your family pet to make the session your own!
